Before, During & After of a recently completed block paving driveway in Castleconnell Co. Limerick

This driveway as shown in the first photo was previously badly prepared and badly laid, levels and falls were wrong. It was also down on a thin mixture of stone, sand and clay causing it to sink, lift and allowing water and mud to boil up through it. It had repeatedly been wrongfully patched and quick-fixed by others but the problem was never solved.

These are the steps we took to solve and permanently fix the issue.
•Powerwashed and cleaned the blocks
•Excavated the clay to a depth
•Layer of terram geotextile membrane to filter & stabilise the ground
•150mm of compacted crushed stone
•50mm of sharp sand compacted and screeded
•New heavy duty Aco drains laid to take surface water
•Block paving Re-laid, compacted with joints filled with kiln dried sand.

The client now has a problem free driveway that is like new
